I spent the last week working at the Schomburg library installing a photo show of Obama’s first year. While the 74 photos in the show are excellent, my favorite was this poster for sale outside the library for $2.

February resolutions
My friend Matt Carmody came Up with the idea of a February lent: February is the shortest month of the year, so if you are going to give something up for a month might as well be February. Also new years resolutions are overrated.
So for February I will attempt to not eat meat, not drink coffee and not smoke.

A portfolio site I made for my younger brother. Front end uses jQuery and Galleria. Back end uses Django, photologue, and features some customization of the Admin interface which I have posted on github.
Portfolio website for ABI Construction. Static HTML site was built with HAML using StaticMatic.
Colca Canyon, located in southern Peru is the second deepest canyon in the world (the deepest being the canyon next door). I spent two days hiking into and out of the canyon while backpacking in South America in 2009.
I decided to name this jam Colca Canyon because the rhythm and guitar melody is vaguely reminiscent of Huayno music, the terrible pop music of Peru. It is the first thing I recorded while learning Logic 9.
Enjoy!
Dave Douglas
Saw Dave Douglas last night at the Village Vanguard. He was playing all new songs, which sound a lot like his old songs. Some songs vaguely hinted at Christmas music in an ironic way. That’s my kind of humor.
